Custom Blending

High-intensity sweeteners each have a distinct taste profile. When used individually in large enough proportions, foods and beverages may exhibit the subtle off-tastes of aspartame, sucralose or ace-k (acesulfame potassium). To improve the functionality of high-intensity sweeteners, we often blend two or more to accentuate a synergistic taste profile. One sweetener may have an immediate onset, while another may have a sweet linger.

In powder pre-mixes, bakery, frozen & novelty deserts or candy & confectionary applications, the homogeneity of the blended sweeteners is critical. Because aspartame, sucralose and ace-k have dissimilar bulk densities in varying grades of powder and granular material, traditional blending is simply inadequate. Standard paddle and ribbon blenders generate heat and create gummy material with 'hot & cold' spots.

Niutang is now able to provide customers with any ratio of sweeteners in thoroughly homogenous blends. Niutang utilizes fluidized spray-drying technology to make each particle of material to the customer's exact blend specifications. In this process, one sweetener is suspended in an aqueous solution and spray-dried onto the other sweetener as they dry together. The result is a completely blended sweetener with flowability and consistency.

Encapsulation

Other manufacturing processes may expose a customer's sweetener to prolonged high heat or acidity. To protect the sweetener, Niutang offers encapsulated high-intensity sweeteners. This encapsulated material provides the ingredient flexibility customers need, especially in gums and bakery applications.
